The Benefits of Calling a Broker

If you’re a borrower seeking a new home finance or refi, I don’t blame you if the last few months have been frustrating. I’m sure you’ve heard: Mortgage rates are at ALL-TIME lows due to COVID-19 headlines. This has had a real effect on most brokerages around the U.S., of which Prospect Home Finance is one; too many mortgage inquiries lead to delays...

Let me explain. The process from home finance inquiry to closing your loan can vary lender-to-lender. Our process involves receiving new leads / LendingTree inquiries, quoting best-execution rates (i.e. ideal rates w/ good credit), getting in touch via email, then phone, and connecting each borrower with a Loan Officer. Where delays can pop up are in the initial email correspondence. You may have replied to a lender’s email about quotes, but not heard back. In some cases, this may lead to you missing out on low rates!

There’s a trick, though: Give them a call!

I can’t speak to the operations of every brokerage, but I know my team at Prospect has Loan Officers and Loan Coordinators on call during regular business hours. We keep it staffed to ensure we field most incoming calls, answer questions, and start your process ASAP. I always tell new borrowers to start by applying at, which lets you lock rates, and to call us at: 858-605-0952

It’s a crazy time right now, and you’ll want to get in touch quickly to secure these record low rates before they’re gone. Thanks!
