The “Gold Leaf” Course focused on the “Mortgage Champions Others First Selling System”, as developed by seasoned industry expert, Dale Vermillion. Centered on converting LendingTree mortgage leads to close, the system emphasizes relationships and differentiation as key considerations for loan officers. Coby praised the course’s philosophy of “not trying to sell a rate, but focusing on the values and benefits you can offer, per a borrower’s specific needs”.
Customizing our approach for each borrower is a top priority at Prospect, regardless of high client volume. Especially this time of year - when potential borrowers can flood major brokers - it is crucial to maintain a consistent level of service. Yelp and Google reviews can be the deciding factor of a borrower choosing us vs. someone else, and rightfully so. This in mind, the “Others First” philosophy will be considered by all of our loan officers going forward.
Coby continued, “The man who developed these best-practices has an impressive reputation and proven track record. At Prospect, we are aware of many of these common sense approaches, such as ‘speed-to-lead’ and professionalism”, adding that loan officers should remember borrowers’ specific needs like “eliminating debt” and “shorter payoffs to retirement”. He concludes that LendingTree’s course “was very detailed, but straightforward regarding steps to take during the entire process. I think it would be great for new loan officers, and even a good program for experienced loan officers to stay refreshed on the most important principles in the mortgage business.”
